In the Philippines, where the tropical weather necessitates cool and refreshing desserts throughout the year, a new favorite is revolutionizing the market. Froyo, or frozen yogurt, a health-conscious alternative to ice cream, typically has less fat and calories. Frio & Co.’s signature froyos are a blend of probiotic-rich yogurt, fruit slices, and other premium toppings. This innovative fusion not only supports gut health and digestion, but delivers a unique texture and flavor that is both indulgent and ideal for cooling down in the scorching hot Filipino summer.

What Makes Frio & Co. Special?

Curious to see what the buzz was all about, me and my colleagues visited Versailles Town Plaza days after Frio & Co.’s opening last March 14, 2025. Their store setup – a pastel blue and cream comboembodies the sweetness of their menu; a variety of frozen yogurt and brewed coffees.

We decided to try two of their best-sellers: Mango and Strawberry. The mango flavor offered a tropical punch that was smooth yet zesty, while the strawberry one had just the right balance of ripeness and sweetness with a subtle sour kick. Each cup boasts a blend of creamy and slightly tangy notes a combination that’s surprisingly delightful and unlike anything we had tried before.
